Simon Says - Part VI Honeymoon

Now, from the title of my post you might think I am talking about the childhood game we all use to play or play with our kids, but I am actually talking about the name of an excursion we did while on our honeymoon in St. Lucia.  Simon Says is a speed boat tour down the west coast of the island, as you're on the boat - it stops every now and then to give you some history about that particular town. Then, about halfway, we stop to go snorkeling in their beautiful waters for 45 minutes. Once we are finished, we get back on the boat and head down to Soufriere (one of their main cities) to get off the boat and onto a van that will take us through the town to an ACTIVE drive-in volcano. The smell is horrendous, but it is pretty neat to experience that.   Once we drove through it, we went to take a mud bath and rinse off in scolding hot water that is about 150*  I am not even kidding when I say it is so hot,  unbearable, it really takes away your breath.

After we do that, our tour guide takes us to his house to eat lunch that his wife and aunt prepared. It was really delicious and so kind of them. Then,  we go to a waterfall to cool down, then back on the boat we go to drink some rum and piton (beer) until we get back to the resort.

They had tons of oil storage there, but yet they cannot just use the oil from there.. another boat comes to take the oil to a different country, then a boat comes back to deliver their oil. So that makes their oil about $7 a gallon US which would be about $16 of their money.. ridiculous.

 Pitons in a distance
This was where the bachelor was filmed one year. The brown building. It goes for $6,000 - $15,000 US a night.

In front of the Pitons. They look close together, but in reality they are close to 3 miles apart.

There were so many of these fish. We still don't really know what they were, but they were not afraid of humans  - they swam so close to us and our face.

Super hot… It was hard to put a smile on.

 Delicious home-cooked meal!
