The Lacey's On Ice

The other day, Matt and I decided to go ice skating! It was some-what random and definitely new for the both of us to do together. It was an outdoor rink right in the heart of San Diego. I have never been skating outdoors on an ice rink before, and I didn't think Matt knew how to either.. but like "they" always say, you can still learn something new about your spouse no matter how long you have been together. 8 years later and I just found out that he knows how to ice skate, has been to an outdoor ice rink, and is a pretty freakin' good ice skater!!  Seriously?!  Ha, ha.
It was a lot of fun, and I would go again.

We Did It!

Our stockings are hung.  ha, ha!
Okay, so all of our decorations have been up since the 2nd of December but I'm finally getting around to upload some photos of our tree and the outside lights. We have a lot of decorations on the inside too, but that would require a lot of photos to upload.

'Tis The Season To Craft..

I have no idea where all my crafty spirit came from these past couple days, but all I want to do is make new things even if it's just a small project. Here are two crafts that I put together last night.

I made this for Matt and had it waiting on the counter for when he came home from work.

It's The MOST Wonderful Time Of The Year..

It's the most wonderful time of the year
There'll be much mistltoeing,
And hearts will be glowing,
When love ones are near,
It's the most wonderful time of the year…..

I seriously love that song. Okay, okay, I love almost every single Christmas song ha, ha. I'm sure I'm driving Matt up the walls by watching Christmas movies every chance I get on T.V. and playing music in the car everywhere I go. So, just to make sure I REALLY made him crazy, I decided to plan a day for us to take Christmas pictures so I can make Christmas cards this year.  This is the first year that we actually took photos of us for Christmas and mailing them out as cards. I am pretty excited! I've wanted to do it since we've been married but the first year we were traveling across country. The second Christmas we were caught up with visiting family and spending it in our first home together and then last year he was deployed.

I wasn't too sure at first where to take our pictures since we were doing it ourselves but then I decided what would be better than to take a hike to the first trail we went on out in California and where he carved our initials in the tree!  The day we went was perfect weather, with just enough sunlight but not overdoing it. And I, of course, have to thank my husband for putting up with all my ideas and the time we spent taking the pictures. Also, for coming up with some creative ideas as well.

Here are some of our photos from the day, the rest will be on my Facebook page.

He engraved that 2 years ago on October 30, 2010.

(There's mistoletoe on the branch he's holding.. it got cut off from the camera a little bit)

 Lol he got me good!

And I got him back!

You can see the colored version of this photo (if you don't have me on Facebook) on the top part of this blog. The only difference is I'm showing teeth on our header and this one I'm not.

Not bad for taking photos by ourselves, huh? I love photography! And I cannot wait to get our Christmas cards in the mail this week so I can mail them out by the weekend.

Next blog post should be about our Christmas decorations.. They've been up since the first of December, but lately these days just run into each other… is it the holidays or what?!

Countdown to see family: 9 days. I couldn't be anymore excited!

CAW! Caw!

On Sunday, November 25, 2012 -  We (Hubby and I) went to the Chargers Vs. Ravens football game with our friends, Kyle and Sarah. Kyle is a big Chargers fan and the husband and I like the Ravens a lot.. so it was bound to be a great game!

The game didn't start until 1:05pm PT, so we left our house at 7:30 in the morning to drive down there (only 40 minutes away) and start tailgating!

Our seats were so awesome!! We were on the away side (obviously!) Row 5 seats 1-4! Super close, it was great.

John Harbaugh in purple shirt (he's the coach for the Ravens)

The best pictures from the day had to be where I captured Matt's expression on when Ray Rice picked up 30 years on the 4th & 29th. It was unbelievable!

Matt and Kyle made a bet before the game that whichever team won, the loser has to put on their jersey ON TOP of their team. Haha, so he had to wear the Ravens jersey above his Chargers until after they got their haircut done.

And you know it was a great day when your flip flops break. I seriously couldn't stop laughing each time he walked because it was too funny…. we've all been there and it totally sucks when one of your flip flops breaks!

All in all, it was a terrific game - it went into OT and I am happy we were finally able to see the Ravens play. Next time, we hope to go up to the B&T Stadium in Maryland to see them play at their home stadium.   Oh! And this means we can cross another item off our list…. I feel like they are being crossed off a lot lately!   #4 on our baby list
