I was born at 11:12 A.M.  on August 23. (right before lunch, perfect timing huh?) Sorry it's been awhile since I updated, but with Matt being gone due to training before his work-up (and then coming home so I've been trying to get the alone time in with him) and me starting up school, it's been kind of hectic around here. I'm trying to get everything in order and together....easier said than done though!!

So anyways, back to my birthday. I am so thankful to celebrate me being alive. I seriously, thank God everyday for me being here on his Earth; living the life I live. I might not pray about it, or go to church every Sunday like I should and use to, but I know, I take at least 1 minute of my day aside and talk to God, ask him questions, pray to him, and tell him what I love and thankful for. The one thing I am most thankful for, is being alive. He gave up so much for us, and I am part of that "us." Without me being here or alive, I wouldn't have known the people I know or met the people I met. I wouldn't be this far in my life without Him.

It is kind of a bummer than my birthday fell on a Tuesday in the middle of a work week, Matt coming home the day before, Matt's eye appointment that day and first day of school starting!! but like my wonderful aunt would have said, "It is what it is!"  Exactly true to that.

There really is no "true" point to this post because, I don't have many pictures from my birthday.  But here are a few that I did take in the beginning of the day
woke up to read some blogs (and start this one!)
Morning of being 23 years old. Don't mind the glasses!
My wonderful Mom uploading photos of me on Facebook when I was little during my birthday.
Reading all the many, many, many posts to celebrate my birthday that makes me feel loved and remembered (even if Facebook reminds others!)
Doing some homework and reading for my college classes
Matt coming home from work to go to an eye doctors appointment. First time I've really taken a picture of him in uniform since when he came home from a deployment in September 2011.
Matt saluting to me.

Matt said he has something planned for this weekend! So, maybe you all will see a more exciting post to come! I hope everyone has been having a good week!!

I also want to give a shout out to my family and extended family to say how much I miss you guys. I really enjoyed seeing everyone and being around company. I truly felt all the love! In a couple years, Matt and I will be on the same coast as everyone. Have a good weekend everyone!

A Few Days In Iphone Photos

Neighbors invited me over for a get-together on Sunday. So much food; pork chops, steak, ribs, brats, hotdogs, sausages, baked beans, and corn. It was good!
School books and supplies
Sleep time with the hubby's t-shirt that smells like him (the shirt he had on before he left)
nighttime reading on the Nook -- Currently wanting to buy "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus"
New green hose since our blue one broke
Clean car (I love my car, it was well over-due for a cleaning)
And as the nice wifey I am, I cleaned the husband's car inside and out too!

I miss Matt but thankfully, he will be home in just 5 short days! My birthday is the day after he gets home and frankly, I haven't even really thought much of it because I'm counting down the days until Matt gets back so we can spend time together. Secretly, I do hope he surprises me when I pick him up with something though.. hehe, doesn't every wife?
Today, I did get that warm feeling inside when I saw on his facebook he updated his status to this:  Lady.... when im with you im smiling... Give me all all all of your love... Soon i will be home, 5 days to go.

Over The Mountains And Through The Rocks....

To Sunset Cliffs we go! Before Matt left on his recent work-up, We and a few other friends decided to try out a new place for the guys to go spear fishing. We all heard about this place from a random guy at La Jolla who told us it use to be a pirate's cove where actual pirates use to be a long time ago and sometimes if you are lucky, you can find gold at the bottom of the ocean. Well, I am unsure if we ever went to the right place or not, but it doesn't matter because we found an awesome site; Sunset Cliffs.
how would one get to a beautiful beach like this?
Down a hill and over rocks with waves crashing up, of course.
In the end, it's pretty much worth it.
It's true, hardly anyone reads signs anymore because we didn't see this until we left. This was the way we went down!
(God, he's so sexy)
Our friend, Kyle with his fish he caught
(look for the mouth moving in these pictures)
(Check it out.. it's a mini flip book with photos of Matt climbing down)
And I'll leave you all with this

I will spare all the blood and guts (literally) of the fish the guys caught. When we got back to the house, the guys cut up all the fish and Matt grilled it. It was really good! Matt said he wants to buy me a wetsuit and gear!! Who knows, maybe the wifey will be out there sooner than later catching her own fish?

Florida Trip Day 7 - Monday

Church Memorial day. Suprisingly, I held it together good. It wasn't easy seeing other family members crying, hearing the beautiful music being played on the piano and sung, nor was it easy hearing the Father speak such sweet words of a woman he had never met, but only heard about. What could have helped me is knowing she is a great place watching over everyone who attended or the fact I was surrounded by so much love, or maybe because I had an adorable, poilte 8-year-old niece holding my hand. Below are the pictures taken from this day
The flowers from the other informal memorial
Take 1
Take 2... as good as it gets with 4 kids under the age of 10!
My grandparents
Aunt Frances and I
Snuck a picture of the boys watching a movie
My niece and I playing around in the room
Group photo with my nieces and nephews!! love them so much
sisters
I love how my niece went into the room, took the player and the boys ended up falling asleep. Haha, I ended up taking her to bed with me....and the player came along.

That next early morning, Tuesday Aug 2, I headed to the airport and flew back home to California! It was awesome to see all my family and spend time with my nieces and nephews. I miss them all, but it is also nice to come back home to my house and my husband, especially knowing our time we share together is limited.
